Theatre/Dance

From a very early age, I spent a lot of time in theatres. At the age of 11, I discovered the role of lighting designer whilst participating in a theatre summer course. I was excited to find my way of entertaining an audience without being on stage.

Whilst at school, I spent all of my free time in QEH Theatre Bristol, The Tobacco Factory theatres and the Bristol Old Vic. This gave me the opportunity to observe professional lighting designers, work with the equipment and also create my own designs. Aged 17, I lit “Through the Wire” by Catherine Johnson, which led to touring with the band Jethro Tull.

I am able to use my concert touring experience and techniques in my theatre designs. Using 3D visualization software, I can already start to program lighting cues in the rehearsal room, making tech and dress rehearsals stress free.
